Club Mountain Champs 2022, Mt John, Tekapo - 10:00am

We're excited to introduce a new event to the Run Timaru calendar for 2022 - the inaugural Run Timaru Mountain Champs which will be held in Tekapo at Mt John on Saturday 28th May 10am. There will be two courses, a short course of 4.33km and a long course of 8.03km which both take you to the top of Mount John. Each begin with a 2km steep climb, however the track non-technical and is suitable for club members of all abilities and ages. Typically for club events, senior and master men and senior women compete in the longer distance, however participants may choose the distance they wish. We will then head to the Tekapo Springs café for lunch as well as having the option to bring a picnic to the provided picnic tables, people may wish to stay on for a soak in the pools or some ice skating (if the quads aren't too sore). This will be a fun family day out for all! There are some things to do for the kids whilst the runners head up Mt John, so please bring the family and lets support the Tekapo Community.

When : 10am, Saturday 28th May.
Carpooling : 8:30am from XCM. Please organise petrol money or the like with your driver and when you get to Mt John's, look for the Run Timaru Flags

This is about having fun with a wee climb, great scenery and bringing the family. We'll book a cafe that has outdoor picnic tables so those that would prefer to bring a picnic lunch can do so and we can sit together.

We look forward to seeing you there on 28th May 🙂 !
